Most species of Eristalinus have distinctive eye markings and Eristalinus aeneus definitely has this characteristic.
They are very quick and agile flyers like most Eristalinus species.
Habitat… Mainly coastal.
Feeding on a wide range of nectar giving flowers.
Larvae of Aeneus is saprobic on wet, decaying frond of Seaweeds.
