Haploprocta sulcicornis (Fabricius, 1794)
Family: Coreidae – Squash & Leather bugs.
Length: 11 to 13mm.
Season: April to September.
Haploprocta sulcicornis is a widespread species of “true bugs”, in the family known as “leaf-footed bugs”, which are found over most of central and the southern most countries of Europe.
Being diurnal, they are mainly active in daylight hours.
Habitat: A wide variety of habitats support this species from, sea level to 1,500 meters altitude.
Low scrub lands, pine forests, meadows, roadsides and mainly where you would find plants of the Genus Rumex (Docks and sorrels) are growing. Will also be seen feeding on Juniper (Genus Juniperus) and Oak (Genus Quercus)
