Unknown Carpenter Bees Ref CB001
I would love to know what species of Carpenter bees this pair belong too?
I say pair, as they both appeared together, then just over 2 minutes they left together just as quick as they appeared. I only got one reasonable image of the smaller one, I believe could be the male. Luckily the larger of the two which I believe to be the female came a little closer to me, so I was able to get a few decent “hopefully” recognisable images. I was just in awe have I have not seen any Carpenter Bee as large as this bee. These images were taken back in 2015. To be precise, the time and date was at 12.45pm on the 4th October 2015. Needless to say, I have not seen this species of Carpenter Bee since.
